The number of imported confirmed COVID-19 cases has largely increased in recent weeks and most of the confirmed cases come from Europe. To enhance anti-epidemic measures, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced on the 18th that all people who entered the country from Europe, Egypt, Turkey and Dubai (including transfer flights) between March 5 to March 14 would have their health status tracked; and that those who complied with above conditions must proactively contact local township/city office. CECC further announced that, starting from 12 a.m. of March 18, no restriction will be allowed for foreigners, except those who have obtained permission in advance; and that all people to enter the country must undergo home quarantine of 14 days.
On the 19th of this Month, Public Health Bureau, Pingtung County Government received a report from a citizen, informing that a Thai migrant worker who has to undergo home quarantine as he entered the country on March 18 went to work the next day.
